Fast Food Hall of Shame: Domino's MeatZZa Feast Pizza

Dough...Sauce...Cheese... and a smattering of a topping or two.

When prepared in its traditional manner as described above, pizza is arguably the most respectable of fast food choices.

However, like their burger rivals, Domino's loves to push the "bigger is better" mentality. Their "Feast" pizzas layer on extra cheese, meat and an extra heaping helping of nutrition nastiness.

Here are the Nutrition Facts for only 1 (that's ONE) slice from a MeatZZa Feast Pizza:

Calories 365 (vs. less than 400 calories from a well-balanced and filling lunch or dinner)
Fat 19g (this is like eating 2 tablespoons of butter)
Saturated 8g (times 2 or 3 because who only eats 1 slice of pizza per sitting!)
Cholesterol 44mg (again...Multiply it by 2 or 3!)
Protein 17g
Carbs 33g (per slice: equivalent to eating two pieces of white bread)
Sugars 4g
Sodium 840mg (allow me to drive the point home: multiply by 2 or 3!)

Ingredient Lowlights: Aside from bleached white flour in the dough, and sodium nitrate and other preservatives found in the meat toppings, pizza really does not have the laundry list of nasty additives like other fast foods. No fear however. Domino's gets all the additives they missed by offering Side Dishes (a.k.a. brownies, poppers and dippers)

Bottom line: Containing half the amounts of calories, carbs and fat, stick with traditional pizza selections and they won't stick to you (or your arteries!).
